sunday_setlist_2Well, it seems to be that time of year.  Sickness is making its way through all of our families and Metro. So, this week we were out an electric guitar because of it.  I thought about leading with my Les Paul, but I didn’t really have that worked out in my head so I just went with what I prepared and I think we were the better for it.  If I try to make to many changes on a Sunday morning I get too distracted and nothing seems to go right.  This morning went well though, so I think I made the right decision.

Here is the set we did at Metro today:

“Today is the Day” (Brewster/Baloche)  I was so excited to do the Paul Baloche version of this song.  It has such a great feel.

Glory to God Forever” (Beeching/Fee)  This is the second week that we have played this song.  I think it is really starting to catch on.

Famous One” (Tomlin/Reeves)  Classic!

Psalm 23″ (Upton)

Your Name” (Baloche)

Thanks for checking out our set.  To see what other Churches are doing check out Fred McKinnons Worship Blog Carnival.

This was one of those Sundays where I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.  I am getting over a cold and while I feel great, my voice is still pretty scratchy.  I didn’t know if I was going to be able to get anything out or if anyone would want to hear what I did get out!!  Thankfully it is in our weakness that He is strong and He was strong today.  I think our set was very fitting too as we sang songs that all declare His majesty and Who He is.  Here is our set from today:

Glory to God Forever – (Fee/Beeching) first time we have done this
First and The Last – (Houston)  I LOVE THIS SONG
Magnify The Lord – (Taylor/Wolstenholme)
Jesus Messiah – (Tomlin and CO.)
Hosanna – (Mohede)

I am really looking forward to using some of the new songs off of Paul Baloche’s new record “Glorious”.  If you have gotten a chance to listen yet, stop reading this and go listen to it!  You will be blessed.

sunday_setlist_2Another Sunday morning has come and gone.  Here is a recap of what we did at Metro Christian Fellowship today.

We started out this morning with an older Charlie Hall song. “Psalm 126 (You have Done Great Things)”  It was a great way to begin our service and help to focus our hearts on the Goodness of our God.  We play that in the key of D and we transitioned into “Rain Down” by Delirious?.  We haven’t done that song in a very long time, but it was SO awesome to do it again.

Next we did a song from the new Matt Maher record called “Christ has Risen“.  I heard this song for the first time at the National Worship Leaders Conference and have been waiting since July to do it.  If you haven’t heard it yet, you should! 🙂

We followed that with “The Stand” by Joel Houston.  That has been a real anthem a Metro over the past months.

We ended our set with a chorus I learned at the Deeper Level conference this past September.  The song is called “Hosanna” by Sidney Mohede.  It is so Awesome!  This is the first time I have used it and I really love it.  I think it went over very well.  You can search it on YouTube and get an idea of how it goes.  Really powerful!  Click here to check out my post on the Deeper Level Conference and hear more about our time there.

Today’s service was really great.  The Lord showed up in powerful ways.  His Name was made great and it was incredible to be a part of it.

This is my addition to the FredMckinnon.com worship blog carnival.
